Winter thus far has been rather brutal. Catherine can identify, I'm sure, lol. I drove home from work last week in an ice storm. I literally had a tiny 6 inch clear spot in my windshield which I could see through. The defroster just couldn't keep up. Ironically, when I left work, I pulled out in front of the salt truck. How funny is that?! It was behind me the whole way home. A lot of hills in this area and I was holding my breath each time I went up one. I made it home safely. We had a substantial snow yesterday and today, so I will have at least a couple days off work this week. I will be one of the last ones to get my car out, as I have to tackle at least 5 big hills to get to the main (clear) road. Not terribly disappointed though. I plan to catch up on my crochet. less

Wow sounds brutal,weather is nice here we've only had a couple of really hot days one coming up thursday it's going to be 38c and on friday 34c then back down to the mid 20's.

We have hills, but I can take routes that avoid the hills or I can take the subway.

One of the girls is leaving and I will take her Mon/Tues shift, which will bring me up to 39 hours/week. The only really tough day will be the 1st Tues of each month when I clean a client's house from 8:30 a.m.- 1:00 p.m. the go straight to work at the store from 1:30 p.m.-8:30(+) p.m. That's one long-ass day, lol. It's very fast paced work at the store: cooking, cleaning, running register, watching gas pumps, and selling a ton of lottery, lol!! Very few breaks, only when you can squeeze one in during a lull (if you're lucky). It does wear me out but I enjoy the people, for the most part. Some of them are complete jerks and I bite my tongue a LOT!! Hanging in there though and hoping PapaBear's disability hearing comes up soon, and hoping it is good news. It has been almost a year that we have been waiting. Would like to have the hearing before winter. less

So what results could come from Papa Bear's disability hearing. Would he be able to get some kind of a pension or income.
That would really help you a lot.

Well, they do have plenty of chocolate there. I have been indulging in a cappuccino every day but that's gonna have to stop. I had lost nearly 30 pounds the past couple months and I prefer NOT to gain it back!

Now that I am a full-time (well close anyway) working woman, I am finding the weekends are not nearly long enough. Yesterday, Saturday, was not particularly relaxing, lol. Flooded all day and power out the majority of the time. Today is much better. At least it's sunny and the power is back on. Tomorrow, back to work *sigh*!

Yeah, hubby's job had those advantages. Doing concrete, rainy days were days off. no such luck in this job. Also, Beer coolers will be my refuge during tornado season, lol!!

About Me
We are, collectively, the administrators--a three-person team whose overall goal is to create a simple, usable site for pet owners to enjoy.
We are generally laid-back and often a bit goofy (okay, more than just a bit), and we encourage that kind of atmosphere around the site.
The AnimalFamily is composed of Mama Bear, Papa Bear, and...me. I generally handle tech-support, design, development, and the general running of the site.
Mama Bear helps out with the greetings when I'm unavailable, and makes sure the bills get paid. She also does most, if not all, of the PR.
Papa Bear is rarely seen, but is a major contributor of ideas and features. His most common input is, "This would be cool, can you build it?"

What a nice set up. These skinks are truly "stylin". Skinks are beautiful creatures. We have blue tail skinks in abundance here. We can watch them from the window as they monitor the garden.
